How To Convert SPLINE To POLYLINE In AutoCAD 2010

Another new feature that comes in with AutoCAD 2010 is the ability to convert SPLINE objects to 2D PLINE objects. This feature was one of the most wanted items on the customer wish lists. It gives you the freedom of drawing curves as SPLINE objects and the flexibility of editing them as PLINE objects. What you could get as a third party add-on is now included among PEDIT and SPLINE EDIT commands.

From the MODIFY panel in the ribbon menu you can access the PEDIT (or SPLINE EDIT) command. It's been embedded into both commands rather than a new command.

Once you select this option, you will be prompted for the precision value. In essence you are asked to specify how little you want the line segments to be once you're done, or the precision value for the to-be PLINE object. With little experimenting I found out that '6' is a very convenient value. Increased values bring about far too many vertex points.
