Using AutoCAD MEASUREGEOM Command

[AutoCAD 2010 and higher versions.]

Hello friends,

We could do so little with AutoCAD's inquiry commands (AREA , DIST , ID, LIST). Joining them with dimensioning tools, we could analyze the geometry of objects. The new MEASUREGEOM command that comes in with AutoCAD 2010, all these processes have been bundled together. Just bundled, no additions nor improvements in fact.

As I said, the new commands eases the process of learning about distances, angles, areas, volumes and radii of objects. The new thing is that for example, the distance feature of this new command can show you the info on the object instead of text window. (DISTANCE worked through the command prompt).

Measurement of area has been simplified too. The selected area is highlighted, eliminating errors. You can also add/remove from your selection.

Solid objects have to make do with just volume measurement. Selecting the area option shows you the total surface area of the solid. The lengths of edges are not still included.

All in all, this is just a visually more appealing command joining the inquiry commands in a single package.
