AutoCAD 2007 and 2008

This is my first hello to Daily AutoCAD readers,

In my first article, I would like to explain how to make reflection effects when defining rendering material in AutoCAD 2007. As an example, we will create a material that has 50% reflection.

1. Open materials palette from View/Render/Materials menu (Fig.1). From here use button 1 to add a new material and name it as you like (Fig. 2). From the review menu, make sure that the new created material is selected currently (during the selection, edges look bold and yellow).

2. Select mirror template from the template drop-down list (Fig. 3). Use “assign” button (Fig.1 – button 2) to assign the material to the entity or entities that you would like to assign and finish the operation by using enter.

3. After making the mirror assignment, select the Advanced option from the template drop-down list (Fig.4).

4. Increase the reflection track-bar towards right direction until at least it comes to half (Reflection will be 100% when it is at the end on the right side) ( Fig. 5 inside the lower circle) .

5. If necessary, you can decrease the Opacity value and use the glass or mirror property. By this way, you can obtain views with glasses through which it can be seen.

6. If you bring Ambiant and diffuse values to black color, then you can obtain more realistic reflection effects.

Have a nice day.
