AutoCAD 2008 Render: Photometric Lights 2

AutoCAD 2008 and higher versions

Hi dear bloggers,

I explained how to add photometric lights manually in my first article. I am going to explain how to use pre-defined photometric lights in this second and the last part of the series.

2) Using Pre-defined Photometric Lights : There is a group of pre-defined photometric lights in AutoCAD 2008. You can access them by ‘Tool Palette‘ menu. ( Shortcut for opening/closing the menu: CTRL + 3)

The color temperature, area intensity and IES network features of these lights are prepared according to international standards. Autocad will alert you and restore the LIGHTINGUNITS variable to its international value if it is ‘0‘. Just after, you are going to be asked for the location of the light. Acording to my experience, these lights are weak when you are drawing in centimeters. This problem can be avoided by increasing the light intensity. Here is an example of soft fluorescent light usage:

We will glad to publish your examples if you send.
