Command: _TRIM

Trim is used for cutting extended portions of object(s) crossing another.  Firstly, the limiting objects (edges) for the cut off should be selected and by pressing enter, the selection is completed and then by clicking on the extended portions of the desired objects and pressing enter, the command concludes.

Command process;

Command:_trim
Current settings: Projection=UCS, Edge=Extend
Select cutting edges …
Select objects or <select all>: 1 found

Select objects: (when the edges are selected, confirm by pressing enter)
Select object to trim or shift-select to extend or […/…/…/…/…/…]: (click the portions that are wanted to be trimmed)

Select object to trim or shift-select to extend or […/…/…/…/…/…]: (If any trimming objects exist, click the other object’s portions to be cut off )

and the result is,

If there are more than one cutting edges, you can select them by clicking two points. To do this, upon entering the command; first cutting edges are selected;

Confirmed by pressing enter and then points on the portions that are going to be trimmed are clicked.

If there are more objects to be trimmed, you can use ‘Crossing Window’ option which is more efficient since the version 2006. Besides, it is no need to enter any kind of special command.

Form a window by clicking two points on the desired trim side.
