Autocad 2009 and later

Hello Dear friends,

I have been talking for quite a while about using the quick properties window to change the geometrical values of objects.

Fig.1
Fig.1 Text I want to align.

If your Quick Properties window is active in AutoCAD 2009 (activate it using CTRL+SHIFT+P), all the porperties of the selected object appear in the window. If the selection is a TEXT object and you have customized your Quick Properties window, among these properties would be the X, Y, and Z geometry values.

Fig.2
Fig.2 You can align all to the left by adjusting the X value.

You can manually change the initial *VARIES* value in ‘Position X‘ by going over to it with your mouse. If you happen to click on the spot marked with red in Fig.2 AutoCAD goes nuts and carries all text to the same spot. Therefore you should first inquire the X value and then input it manually.

You can also align other objects using this property. If you are using a version earlier the AutoCAD 2009, you can do this from the ‘Properties’ window.
