Autocad, Hints & Tips, How ToHip tip: Fast coordinate input.
Greetings everyone,
After having specified the starting point of a line, you can draw the line in any length in any direction that you simply show with your mouse. The features used in such a drawing are Ortho, Polar Tracking and Object Snap Tracking.

If the ortho mode is active, you can draw lines at right angles (0, 90, 180 and 270). You may find this quite practical indeed. All you have to do is to specify the direction and then type in the length.

Fig.1 You can also get the same results if 0 is among the specified angles in the Polar mode.
Polar mode enables you to draw along the direction the angles (measured from the positive x-axis counterclockwise) that you have specified earlier. The Polar and Ortho mode are alternatives to each other so one turns off when you turn on the other.

You can get detailed information on the Polar mode from Erhan’s article. (link)

Fig.2 You can draw along any angle or the predefined angles when the Polar mode is active.
OTRACK enables you to extend x-y and z axis from snap points on objects.

I have already written a more detailed OTRACK article with you before.

Good day.
