Hello Daily AutoCAD readers,
In this article, I will explain how to use the geometrical quality tolerances in AutoCAD.
If you write tolerance into the command line, you will get the window that you can see in the below figure. You can also access it through dimension toolbar and Dimension – Tolerance menu.

Fig.1
First of all, let’s examine the geometrical representations that are used while giving tolerances.

Fig.2
Press the empty black small box just under the Sym text inside the window that has been opened. All the symbols that you can see in the window that is opened are very frequently used especially by the mechanical designers. Now, let’s have a look at how they are used.
Let’s assume that the picture that is shown below is the view of a standard shaft. Shafts are machinery parts that transmit power. Wobble tolerance is a very important parameter that is used during mechanical design. As it can be seen from the tolerance box shown in the figure, allowable wobble tolerance is defined as 0.05. This means that, it is wanted from the shaft not to make any wobble more than 0.05 while working.

After you enter the values shown below, you can get use of Multileader command inside the dimension menu to obtain the tolerance representation as shown above.

Have ease everyone and hope to see you in the next article.
