Autocad, CommandCommand: _ARRAY
Hello friends,
I will write about one of the commands I like and hope you like it too. You can place numerous copies of a sample object around a circle or in rows and/or columns. The name of the command is ARRAY.

You can access the command from the Modify toolbar, drop-down menu or enter ‘Array’ in the command prompt. You will be met by the following dialog box once you activate the command.

Fig.1
Let’s try to get a better understanding by using an example:
Firstly draw a rectangle and then run the ARRAY command. Use the ‘Select objects’ button in the upper right corner of the window to select the whole rectangle, and then hit ENTER. Select the desired number of rows and columns. Adjust the row/colums spacing in te Offset section. You can try to do something similar to these:

Fig.2
As for ‘rectangular Array’, this is about it. Let me show you ‘polar Array’.

Fig.3
As you can see, it puts copies of an object around a circular path. Let’s use an example again:
Draw a circle and a sample object above it. Run the Array command and select the ‘polar Array’ feature. Use the ‘Select objects’ button to select your sample object, and the ‘Center Point’ button to select the center of the circle. Enter the number of copies you wish (12 in my example) and specify the total angle (360) that these objects will occupy around the circle and then hit ‘OK’.

You can easily draw a clock like in Fig.4.
I am kind of new in writing articles, so please pardon any inconveniences.
Earlier on Murat also talked about the Array comman in his article, which you can find here:
