We have to learn about the MULTILEADER styles if we want the arrow line, and description text of the created MULTILEADERs to be as we want them to be. For this reason, before explaining about how to create a description bubble instead of a description text, first I will explain about MULTILEADER styles.

In order to access style definitions, we will use MLEADERSTYLE command or MLS alias command. We have already explained in our previous article that you can access MULTILEADER commands through dashboard. I generally don’t touch‘ Standard ’ style. If I will change settings, I always create a new style. I believe that you should always follow this practice too when you are using AutoCAD. At the end of this article, we will have a description capsule, not a description text. For this reason, I am selecting the name of the style as ML-KAPSUL (Fig. 2).

Let’s continue by mentioning that MULTILEADERs are also ANNOTATIVE entities, which means that you can mark them as ANNOTATIVE. Defining a new style is composed of 3 main titles. First one is arrow line (leader). Color, line type, line thickness, arrow shape and size of the arrow can be adjusted from here. Besides, you can also set the line to be curly (Fig. 3).

In the second title, you can adjust the structural settings of the arrow line. End line of arrow line, size of this line, and scale for the general of the arrow line are all being set from here. If you want, you can also set the number of segments and the angles from here. However, it seems that 2 segments look to be enough for the standard drawings (Fig. 4).

The most important settings are at the end. Here, you can find the settings related to content, thus description place. You can insert any of the preset blocks that you have prepared before inside the description part and in place of text. However, scales of the preset blocks are prepared according to mm and they appear very small in cm drawings. We can make the settings as shown in Fig. 5.

When preparing our block, you can use one or more number of ATTRIBUTE. These blocks should definitely be existing inside the drawings where style definitions are being made. You can find detailed information about block in the e-book that we have published before. If necessary, you can refer to this information. And finally, here is how our new style is being used (Fig. 6).

As you can see, we obtained a different description text by using our own block. You can also make your own description blocks by using your own design i.e. balloons, hexagonal etc. In our final article, we will explain about our options for editing MULTILEADER.
