Autocad, Hints & Tips, How ToHow to Convert Spline to Polyline?
I don’t like to use SPLINE personally. I have a few acceptable reasons to doesn’t like it. I don’t feel that I have full control on it, some editing problems and I’m a pernickety man. Anyway, you dont have to be a man like me, but sometimes you may want to convert splines to POLYLINE object. There are few ways to convert SPLINE to POLYLINE.
- Save As R12DXF – AutoCAD R12 hasn’t SPLINE object. If you SAVE your SPLINE drawing as R12DXF file you will get POLYLINE instead of SPLINE.
- Flatten – If you installed EXPRESS TOOLS with AutoCAD, you can use FLATTEN command to convert SPLINES to POLYLINE,
- WMFOUT/WMFIN – Export your SPLINES using the WMFOUT command and ERASE them from the drawing. Use WMFIN command and insert your new objects into your drawing and SCALE them 2x.
- If you are a subscription member of AutoCAD. You can download the AutoCAD 2009 Bonus Pack 1 that contains SPLINE converting utility.
