Architectural Desktop 2007
Programmers of Architectural Desktop 2007 ( ADT 2007 ) has hidden some treasure to secret places. As a result of attempting to simplify menus, these treasures are either overlooked or totally do not appear. Fortunately, there we are to show you and explain these features :) . AECINSPECT command is one of these features. You can enter into command line by writing as AECINSPECT. Besides, somehow, this special command is placed into the standard icon menu just between calculator and CUT command. As soon as you select this command, mouse cursor turns into object selection mode and opens up a small label on the screen that shows a short summary about the properties of the object (Fig. 1) Read the rest of this entry »

Lights are the most important elements of scenes as they are so in real life either. You might have crashed into a well cleaned glass as you did not notice it. Same glass can be noticeable in different light conditions. For this reason, it is very important to use lights. Uses of lights in scenes require professional knowledge and artistic experience. Please note that, during this article, I will use the word scene for the view that we will render. I also would like to mention that I don’t have expertise for use of lights professionally, and I will explain the use of lights only in the technical manner how to place lights into the scenes in AutoCAD Read the rest of this entry »

AutoCAD 2007 and higher versions
When a texture material is assigned to a surface or a solid entity, then according to the shape of the entity, AutoCAD automatically covers it with that texture material. However, thing may not work out as we expect all the times and AutoCAD may make some mistakes; or we may have some special demands.
When we discussed about material definitions, we described about tile property. This property is distributed to all of the surfaces equally in standard applications. When mapping is applied to any material, mapping area will be the area that is taken as basis for material. Accordingly, if the mapping area is larger than the surface to be covered, only part of the mapping area that covers the entity will be used; otherwise, whole mapping area will be used so that it will be repeated. When expressions are explained in words it may be a little confusing. So, it is better explained by an example like covering a cylinder, cube or sphere by using a typical woodwork ( with thick, clear veins). The way woodworks look is independent from shape, when they are massive. However, if we cover these entities, then the texture will take the shape of them. That’s what mapping is. Now, let’s continue with an example. There are 4 different kinds of mapping in AutoCAD: Read the rest of this entry »

All AutoLISP versions
All of us suffer clogging while drawing a center lines that is made up of only two lines. Because, the hard part is not to draw those two lines, but to attach one over another in the middle. Most of the time, we draw the second line outside and move the first one by holding from its midpoint onto the second one. Second difficult thing is that second line must have the same length as the first one. Thus, in this article, I will explain how to do this in a practical way and also we will see a AutoLISP application that works with the same principle Read the rest of this entry »

Hello dailyautocad readers,
As you all know, our web site is created by using Wordpress. Recently, Wordpress 2.1 version has been released. Due to the fact that there are some good new features and changes, I also upgraded dailyautocad to version 2.1. However, as I directly installed it without checking if my plug-ins are working or not; I had to recheck all later.
I added wp_weighted_categories plug-in, which enables to enlarge fonts depending on the crowdness of categories as you can see on the right side. It uses list_cats() function. As this feature can group all of the categories together without looking at their hierarchy and it will enable ease on search engines, it was my favorite feature. However WP 2.1 has changed list_cats() function, so my extensions are no longer working
