Software, Vista, Windows XPTurn your Windows XP to Vista for free!
The reason for this playful heading is the Vista Transformation Pack 6, which is quite serious. VTP6 is actually a theme pack that makes your Windows™ XP look like Vista. I have always stayed away from this kind of programs but VTP6 has earned my love and respect. It does’t bring any more load to your system and you can uninstall it any time you want.
The installation is quite extraordinary. I strongly advise you to use your Windows in SAFE MODE during the installation. Then you will be asked to reply a long series of questions, just like a poll. These questions will determine which features you want and which you don’t. You should read carefully and reply keeping your system’s abilities in mind. The fun part starts after the installation. At the startup, you will see your old Windows theme, you will have to change the theme as in Fig.1 .

After this step, there will be considerable changes. The start menu for example, will look like the one in

Fig.2 .
The buttons for closing and minimizing dialog boxes have also changed to Vista style. Open/Close dialog boxes also have pretty icons Fig.3.

The control panel has changed too Fig.4.

During my little inspection, I saw some little deformations in the icons of the Save As.. dialog boxes of old programs (Internet Explorer 5). You won’t experience any problems if you don’t play with the size of the window though. I didn’t experience any malfunctions. There wasn’t any loss in the performance of the system neither. Some texts in the headings of the dialog boxes seem smaller than before, but that’s not a major problem. Use your Vista happily.
